I just returned last week from a 9 day trip to Nicaragua. My visit there was intended for meeting new connections and continuing to strengthen ones we've already established. What a busy, productive and fruitful time! I was able to visit and share my heart with people in three various cities: Jinotega, Esteli, and Jalapa.
Each city has its own unique strengths and struggles but all have a common thread- people with the desire to have authentic relationship with Christ and others. The idea and teaching of freedom and family found in Christ is not one that is currently widespread in Nicaragua. Legalism and the prosperity gospel doctrine unfortunately is confusing the lives of many and continues to discourage the younger generation from believing and following Jesus. We are excited to journey alongside those who are eager for this truth of grace and the true life-giving freedom found only in Him.
